An entrepreneur and committed mom, Raquel Baquero holds a bachelor's degree in economics and Latin American Studies from Florida International University. In 2000, she later went on to complete a course focused on long-term negotiation strategies as part of the Harvard Executive Education Program. The following year, Raquel Baquero co-founded her first business in the Dominican Republic, Aqua Sushi Restaurant & Bar, which went on to receive acclaim as a top dining destination in her country.
From 2002 to 2008, Ms. Baquero founded and operated Cabo Verde, S.A., a hair care company focused on distributing Paul Mitchell and Rusk products. Since 2008, she has served at Transwest Enterprises, SRL, as a founding partner and general manager. Transwest Enterprises furnishes services to Dominican Republic-based telecommunications firms.
Currently, Raquel Baquero spends the majority of her time caring for her two children. Among her activities as a mom, she has assisted in the development of a "Green Team" to help a local school achieve "Green School" certification and is committed to helping improve her local community with recycling efforts. She has completed three marathons.
